Meet the Owner – Evan Wacht

My name is Evan Wacht, and I am the owner of the My Gym Children’s Fitness Center coming soon to Williamsburg!

I first discovered My Gym while working as a teacher at several locations throughout Manhattan. I immediately fell in love with the positive impact the program had on children and families. What started as a job quickly became a passion and ultimately a career. From there, I decided to branch out and open my own franchise in Brooklyn.

In 2017, I opened my first My Gym location in Park Slope, followed by a second location in Cobble Hill in 2019, and a third location in Downtown Brooklyn in 2024. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with thousands of children and families, and I still love every aspect of what we do. From our innovative curriculum and incredible staff to the relationships we build with families, we truly strive to make everyone who walks through our doors feel like part of our My Gym family.

Before joining My Gym, I worked as an educator in both New York City and Connecticut. I also spent ten years as a camp counselor, helping children build confidence, friendships, and independence through play and exploration.

My family and I are proud to call Brooklyn home. I am a lifelong New Yorker, born and raised in the city, and I grew up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. After spending my childhood in Manhattan and building my career throughout New York City, I eventually found my home in Brooklyn, where I have had the privilege of serving local families through My Gym for nearly a decade. I love the strong sense of community, the amazing local businesses, beautiful parks, and the diversity that makes each neighborhood unique. Williamsburg has always been one of my favorite neighborhoods to visit. Over the years, I’ve spent countless mornings and afternoons enjoying Domino Park, taking in the incredible waterfront views, and spending time along the East River. I’ve also enjoyed working out at Equinox Williamsburg and have always admired the energy, growth, and family-friendly atmosphere that make this neighborhood so special.

When I’m not at My Gym, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our son. You can often find us exploring Brooklyn’s parks and playgrounds, trying new restaurants, attending community events, listening to music, or cheering on our favorite baseball teams. As a family, we love discovering everything that makes Brooklyn such a special place to live and raise children.

We are incredibly excited to bring My Gym to Williamsburg and become part of this wonderful community. We look forward to meeting your family, getting to know your children, and creating a place where they can grow, learn, build confidence, and most importantly, have fun.
