Meet the Owner – Yvette Ferrer
I first discovered My Gym while visiting a friend in New York. I remember walking into a class and immediately thinking, "This place is great." The energy was contagious, the teachers were engaging, and it was clear that the program was about much more than physical activity. It was about building confidence, kindness, and a sense of community for children and families.
Years later, when I decided to leave the legal profession and explore entrepreneurship, I began researching children's franchises and family-focused businesses. The more I learned about My Gym, the more convinced I became that it was the right fit. I fell in love with the company's focus on child development, family connection, and creating a welcoming environment where every child can succeed. Today, I am thrilled to bring My Gym White Rock to families throughout East Dallas, Lakewood, and the White Rock Lake area.
Prior to My Gym, I spent more than ten years practicing law. While I enjoyed many aspects of my legal career, I found myself looking for something more personally fulfilling. As a parent of two young children, I became increasingly passionate about creating experiences that help children learn, grow, and build confidence. Starting my own business was a leap of faith, but it was one that felt worth taking.
I was born and raised in Dallas. After leaving for college and law school, I was excited to return home in 2021 to start my family. There is so much to love about East Dallas, from the beautiful neighborhoods surrounding White Rock Lake to the strong sense of community that makes this area such a special place to raise children. I am proud to be opening a local children's fitness and enrichment program in the city that has always felt like home.
When I am not focused on My Gym, I love spending time with my partner, our two young children, our dog, and the rest of our family. My kids are currently one and a half and almost three years old, so life is busy and full of adventure. We enjoy beating the Texas heat at the pool, taking walks with the dog, exploring parks and playgrounds, and discovering new places around Dallas together.
