Meet Liz Sharp, Director of My Gym Nanuet


Tell us about yourself / your family.

I’m an only child and grew up in Cornwall, New York, though my parents have since moved to South Carolina. I recently married my husband, Nate, in June, and we’re excited to be starting this new chapter together!


How did you discover My Gym?

I spent four years in South Carolina earning my Bachelor’s degree in Business before taking a break from the business world to pursue my passion for teaching. I taught K3/K4 for two years and 3rd grade for one year in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. After moving to Nanuet, I accepted a marketing position to put my degree to use, but I quickly realized how much I missed working with children. While searching for teaching opportunities, I came across the Director position at My Gym—and it felt like the perfect combination of my education, experience, and passion.


What are your hobbies? How do you and your family like to spend your time?

I love anything adventurous, especially road trips and hiking. I also enjoy exploring new restaurants, discovering cozy coffee shops, and, of course, a good shopping trip!


Share your favorite childhood memory with us.

Some of my favorite childhood memories are playing basketball outside in my neighborhood after school and training for Taekwondo tournaments. Those experiences taught me teamwork, perseverance, and confidence—values I carry with me everyday at MyGym.


Let’s talk about Nanuet! What do you love most about your community?

I love that Nanuet has the welcoming feel of a small town while continuing to grow and offer new opportunities. There’s always something to do, and its been amazing to be a part of such a supportive community!


What’s the most exciting part about bringing My Gym to Nanuet?

The most rewarding part is watching our members grow stronger and more confident every week. Seeing children light up as they master a new skill, make new friends, and discover what they’re capable of is what makes My Gym such a special place. I love to help families create lasting memories while their little ones learn, play, and thrive!
