My Gym was born out of our passion to teach children in a fun, physically engaging environment. We delighted in seeing children's eyes light up for all those incredible milestones, from the tentative first steps to tumbling down soft mats. Sharing the parents’ excitement at their children’s accomplishments was the high point of our day.
Picture this: In 1983, three fitness enthusiasts—Yacov, Susi Sherman, and Bill Caplin—redefined children's fitness by blending dance, gymnastics, and athletics. That's the birth of My Gym! Their mission: create a space just for kids—no more sharing mom's or dad's gym, but My Gym. With backgrounds in dance, gymnastics, and athletics, they crafted a unique fitness curriculum focused on non-competitive skill building for ages 6 weeks to 14 years. Fast forward: Cory and Monique turned My Gym into a franchise sensation in 1994. The success was undeniable, growing from 100 kids to over 400 in a year. Now a global phenomenon, My Gym is consistently ranked the #1 children's program worldwide.

Hi future My Gymer's! A little quick backstory on my journey to My Gym, I have been with the Franchise for 12 years now and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I am a MD native, worked with other locations including My Gym Brandon located outside of Tampa, FL for 7 years as their Director. I have moved back home to be closer to family and friends, where this is home along with the opportunity to be the Regional Director for McLean and Vienna. What an honor! In the past, I have worked with children as a camp counselor and worked at my church. I have a strong background in cheerleading. I have studied Secondary Education at the University of Maryland and my love for the children is deep, with a passion for their learning and growth. What I love about My Gym, is making an impact early on in their lives along with the love they exude, it is the most rewarding! In my spare time, my husband and I love to travel and are huge foodies! Trying new things and exploring is important to us and spending time with family is everything. I am a huge coffee addict, pandas are the best and love the color pink! Hi there! I’m Ms. Ameliah, the Assistant Director at My Gym Vienna. I’ve been part of the team since summer 2023, and every day has been a fun-filled adventure. I love watching kids build confidence and master new skills, and there’s nothing better than seeing proud smiles from their parents right alongside them. My favorite game with the older kids is Chain Tag—it’s nonstop energy—and with the little ones, I can’t resist a good Beach Ball Bop session. When I’m not at the gym, I’m hanging out with my cat, three lizards, and caring for my growing collection of 25 houseplants. I’ve also picked up crocheting recently, so my free time is usually spent crafting something cozy. I’m so excited to meet you and your little ones and be part of their journey at My Gym!
Hi MyGym-ers! I’m Ms. Amira, one of the lead teachers here at MyGym Vienna. I’m currently studying Psychology at George Mason University. I absolutely love working with kids and learning how they think — my goal is always to help them navigate this big world a little more easily. Before joining MyGym, I tutored and worked in various educational settings. I also grew up with a teacher mom, and of course, I was a child myself once (that has to count for something, right? :)). I’ve been living in Burke for the past 7 years, but I originally grew up in Dubai, U.A.E! In my free time, I’m usually reading, writing, or learning languages — I’m fluent in two and ambitiously working on three more. MyGym is such a delightful, energetic space for your little ones where we sing our hearts out, dance our sillies out, and run around until we can’t anymore. I’m so excited to meet you and welcome our new friends!
