My Gym was born out of our passion to teach children in a fun, physically engaging environment. We delighted in seeing children's eyes light up for all those incredible milestones, from the tentative first steps to tumbling down soft mats. Sharing the parents’ excitement at their children’s accomplishments was the high point of our day.
Picture this: In 1983, three fitness enthusiasts—Yacov, Susi Sherman, and Bill Caplin—redefined children's fitness by blending dance, gymnastics, and athletics. That's the birth of My Gym! Their mission: create a space just for kids—no more sharing mom's or dad's gym, but My Gym. With backgrounds in dance, gymnastics, and athletics, they crafted a unique fitness curriculum focused on non-competitive skill building for ages 6 weeks to 14 years. Fast forward: Cory and Monique turned My Gym into a franchise sensation in 1994. The success was undeniable, growing from 100 kids to over 400 in a year. Now a global phenomenon, My Gym is consistently ranked the #1 children's program worldwide.

Alexis LOVES being the co-owner of My Gym Sherwood. With a background in dance and musical theater she really enjoys all the aspects of class - songs, dances, gymnastics skills, and more! She has 2 kiddos and they're the inspiration for opening a My Gym. Being a part of this wonderful community and giving families a safe, clean, and positive space for their kids to learn and grow by bringing the amazing classes and programs to Sherwood has been one of her greatest accomplishments.
Teacher Hope has worked at the gym for 3 years and loves being apart of the My Gym team. When they're not at the gym Hope enjoys getting cozy with a sketch book or is out on a hike searching for mushrooms and taking too many pictures.
Teacher Brandy started with My Gym at the start of 2022, her first time working out of the home in more than a decade! She was able to be a stay at home mom to her five kiddos until her youngest started school. She gets so much enjoyment being here with the babies and kids. Brandy said she loves seeing the kids personal growth in the gym & them conquering their fears. Teacher Brandy loves to watch her kids play sports, she loves crafting, sewing, cooking and listening to 90's hiphop music.
Kaylee loves creating block prints, cycling, and doing yoga during her free time. Outside of the gym, she enjoys exploring new coffee shops, visiting bookstores, and foraging.
My Gym is consistently ranked the #1 children's program worldwide. And our awesome, fun teachers are the main reason behind that.
