My Gym was born out of our passion to teach children in a fun, physically engaging environment. We delighted in seeing children's eyes light up for all those incredible milestones, from the tentative first steps to tumbling down soft mats. Sharing the parents’ excitement at their children’s accomplishments was the high point of our day.
Picture this: In 1983, three fitness enthusiasts—Yacov, Susi Sherman, and Bill Caplin—redefined children's fitness by blending dance, gymnastics, and athletics. That's the birth of My Gym! Their mission: create a space just for kids—no more sharing mom's or dad's gym, but My Gym. With backgrounds in dance, gymnastics, and athletics, they crafted a unique fitness curriculum focused on non-competitive skill building for ages 6 weeks to 14 years. Fast forward: Cory and Monique turned My Gym into a franchise sensation in 1994. The success was undeniable, growing from 100 kids to over 400 in a year. Now a global phenomenon, My Gym is consistently ranked the #1 children's program worldwide.

We are so lucky to have been a part of the My Gym world for decades and now are raising our families together while growing our small businesses together. We have found immense joy in raising our kids at My Gym surrounded by the energy and laughter of our friends.
We believe that our gym is more than just a place to tumble and play - It's a cornerstone of our community. Our passion is simple: to create a safe, supportive and loving environment where parents and kids can bond, grow stronger and build lasting memories. We are proud to serve Woodland Hills and help bring a little extra love and excitement to every family who walks through our doors.
After a small stint at acting, Eric quickly realized that his true passion was in children’s entertainment/education and not in the entertainment industry. He began his career working with children 20 years ago as a part-time instructor at My Gym in Encino, CA. Soon he progressed to full-time, then director, and many years later he was offered the opportunity to partner and become a co-owner. He jumped in with both feet and has loved every minute since! Over the years Eric has also worked very closely with My Gym Corporate helping train future My Gym franchisees from around the world, and he was the leader of My Gym’s live troop: “The Activators!” In July 2020, Eric was chosen by Yacov and Susi Sherman, the founders of My Gym, to purchase the My Gym Woodland Hills, CA location. He is thrilled to be able to further reach more children and families through the amazing My Gym program.
Edwin and Emma Chavez have been My Gymers most of their lives! With backgrounds in dance and gymnastics, it was an easy transition to My Gym. They began their careers at local My Gyms in Valencia and Pasadena, and from there moved up the ranks, eventually working for My Gym's Corporate Office. They have spend over a decade teaching little ones at My Gym and have loved every minute of it! They currently own My Gym Woodland Hills, My Gym Valencia, and continue to work for My Gym Corporate. YAY!!!
Edwin is the director of My Gym Children’s Fitness Center, dedicated to helping both children and team members grow and succeed in every area of life. A fitness enthusiast, he enjoys working out, hiking, and holds a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, always bringing his competitive spirit and determination to everything he does. He loves being in the ocean—fishing, diving or just enjoying the water—and is a true foodie with a special love for gumbo and cheesecake. Edwin believes in being the best version of himself and encourages others to do the same. He finds joy in seeing children develop new skills, gain confidence, and grow into their fullest potential, and he treasures being part of their journey. Above all, he values teamwork, support, and helping everyone around him thrive.
CC is a warm, compassionate teacher who truly loves working with children and being part of the My Gym family. She is currently working toward her Business degree and is exploring a double major or minor in Early Childhood Education, with the dream of one day running her own preschool. CC finds so much joy in watching children learn, grow, and gain confidence as they become comfortable in the space and let their personalities shine. Working with kids is especially meaningful to her, as it allows her to nurture, encourage, and support children in ways that are both healing and fulfilling. She feels grateful for the privilege of doing what she loves every day and believes that helping children grow also helps her grow right alongside them. When she’s not at My Gym, CC enjoys arts and crafts (she’ll try anything at least once!), playing video games, going to Disneyland, and spending time with friends. And if you’re wondering—her favorite dessert is homemade vegan Rice Krispie treats!
Aubrey is an encouraging and enthusiastic teacher who loves helping children build confidence while learning new skills in a fun and supportive environment. She enjoys being a positive support system for kids during class time, helping them feel proud of what they can accomplish. Aubrey believes that every day is a new opportunity to grow and strives to be a better version of herself each day. She currently attends CSUN, where she is also a cheerleader. Having siblings who attended My Gym, Aubrey is excited to now work in the same place where they built their skills and confidence, and to help create that same positive experience for other children. When she’s not working, Aubrey enjoys cheerleading, spending time with her siblings, and indulging in her favorite treats—fruit tarts and red velvet cake!
Karina is a positive and caring teacher who loves being a joyful and encouraging influence in children’s lives. She finds happiness in bringing kids joy and helping them learn something new each day. Motivated by her faith, Karina strives to be a better person, a better mother, and to always grow with a positive outlook on life. She is excited to be back in the workforce after spending time as a stay-at-home mom, and looks forward to learning new things, connecting with others, and being part of a fun and supportive My Gym team. When she’s not working, Karina loves spending time with her kids—whether that’s going to the movies, playing miniature golf, or enjoying meals together. She’s a big fan of vanilla treats, coffee, and sharing boba with her kids, and is thrilled to be part of the My Gym community.
Diana is a caring and enthusiastic Teacher who loves connecting with children through hands-on, one-on-one interactions. Their happiness and eagerness to play bring her so much joy and make every day at My Gym special. Diana is deeply motivated by her parents, who inspire her to strive for excellence in academics, work, volunteering, and all of her life goals. Easy-going and reliable, she enjoys working in groups and values strong communication with both families and teammates. When she’s not working or volunteering, Diana loves reading or going on long runs to stay both mentally and physically fit. She also loves animals, cherishes her family, and is excited to be part of the My Gym community. And when it comes to treats, cheesecake or vanilla cake are her favorites!
Aleena is a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated teacher who loves being part of the My Gym family. She currently attends Pierce and plans to continue her education at a four-year university. Aleena’s favorite part of working with children is watching them grow—especially seeing their faces light up when they finally master a skill they’ve been working so hard on. Those moments are incredibly rewarding and never get old for her. Aleena is very determined and always strives to do her very best, even when things are challenging. Inspired by her mother, who raised her to be strong and never give up, Aleena brings patience, encouragement, and positivity into every class. When she’s not at My Gym, she enjoys listening to music and crafting—she loves hands-on projects like sewing sock monkeys, making bead bracelets, and creating jewelry. And when it comes to desserts, dark chocolate is her absolute favorite!
Elaine Salazar is a friendly, outgoing teacher who loves being part of a fun and energetic My Gym team. She is currently attending Pierce and plans to continue her education at a four-year university. Elaine’s favorite part of working with kids is getting to be silly and playful right along with them, helping every child feel confident, happy, and excited to participate. Motivated by her family, Elaine always brings her best and is easy to talk to for both kids and parents. She is here to make sure every child has the best time possible while learning, moving, and having fun at My Gym! When she’s not at the gym, Elaine enjoys going on runs or hiking—and chocolate is always her favorite flavor!
Melissa is a curious and enthusiastic Teacher who loves seeing children explore, learn, and share their unique personalities. Each child’s curiosity and joy inspire her, reminding her of her own nieces and nephews and how each person brings something special to the world. Melissa is motivated by her dad, who taught her the value of being great and the importance of working hard to create opportunities for herself and her family. She is currently pursuing a degree in Administration of Justice with dreams of becoming a CSI, showing kids the power of dedication and perseverance. When she’s not at My Gym, Melissa enjoys hitting the gym with her sisters or just spending quality time doing fun, random activities with them. She loves Red Bull for a boost of energy and can’t resist chocolate chip cookies from McDonald’s!
