Optional Testing Recommendation (Updated 8/31/21)
NOTE:
The following policy is just a recommendation - it is optional, not required and we will not require proof as a condition of your attendance at My Gym Long Beach. However, we highly encourage it.
Given the increase in community transmission of COVID-19 and the predominance of the more easily spread Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus, safety among our members and staff is essential to helping to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the community. The Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus spreads more easily than strains of the virus that circulated in LA in the past.
Therefore, we are highly recommending and encouraging our unvaccinated members (adults and children 24-months-old and up) to be tested for COVID-19. This is only a recommendation and is not required.
- Who should be tested?
- Anyone 24-months-old and up who is not vaccinated for COVID-19, regardless of the presence of symptoms, and will be entering the gym. Toddlers and babies younger than 24-months-old are not included in this reccomendation.
- How often should I get tested?
- Our recommendation is to be tested weekly (once a week). California and LA health authorities recommend testing twice a week if possible but is in no way required.
- My child and/or I am already tested weekly for other education/programs/employment/etc., does this count?
- Yes, weekly testing for other activities/reasons fulfills this recommendation.
- Will My Gym LB be requiring proof of a negative test?
- No, we will not be requiring attendees to show proof of their testing. Again, this is only a recommendation for your safety and the safety of others.
- Does My Gym LB plan on requiring testing in the future?
- We do not have any plans to require COVID-19 testing as a condition of attendance. However, COVID-19 rules, policies, and mandates, legally enforced by governmental health authorities, are always changing to help keep everyone safe. There are some possible changes to vaccination requirements, enforced by the LA Dept. of Public Health. That possible change may include a testing policy, it may not. The change may apply to us, it may not. At this time we have no way of knowing. You can read more about this possible change HERE.
As always, the safety of our members, staff, and community comes first above all else. Let's all help keep everyone healthy!
